Westchase Real Estate Information

Known to be one of the wealthiest and most affluent communities in Hillsborough County, the town of Westchase is comprised of a population in excess of 11,000 residents and is situated halfway between downtown Tampa and Clearwater. The beautiful area is bordered by the communities of Oldsmar to the west, Keystone to the north, Town ‘n County to the south and Citrust Park to the east. Constructed only in 1991, the very new town provides residents with a modern and contemporary community that is maintained to the highest of standards. Excellent municipal services help to keep Westchase clean, beautiful, and safe.

Westchase as a whole is actually organized into twenty-eight smaller neighborhoods or villages. Some of the bigger neighborhoods in town include Abbotsford, Arlington Park, Brentford, Enclave, Glenfield, Harbor Links/Estates, Kingsford, Shires, West Park Village, Stamford, Village Green, Vineyards, Worthington, and Wycliff. Two local neighborhoods are centered around towncenters that include vibrant walking paths, interesting shops, and boutique coffee shops. West Park Village is the one of the two neighborhoods, consisting of several condominiums, townhouses, homes, and apartments. The village sponsors a Summer Concert Series that is based in at the town center, although it invites residents of other neighborhoods in Westchase.

Westchase Golf Course is one of residents’ favorite recreational amenities as its course is open to the public throughout the year. Other local courses include Eagles Golf Club, Oak Lakes Golf Course, Old Memorial Golf Club, and Countryway Golf Course. The abundance of nearby golfing has led to an increase in the sports popularity. Many visitors come to Westchase simply to experience the golfing that residents have within a short drive. The closest large park is Lake Rogers County Park, situated northeast of Westchase. The park is surrounded by large lakes and is not only the perfect place to go on a morning jog or evening stroll but also hosts several youth athletics leagues.

Tampa Bay Downs Horse Racetrack is located on the western edge of Westchase and was opened originally in 1926 and has since held thoroughbred horse racing during the track racing season that lasts from December through May. The one-mile dirt oval has long been famous for being the only thoroughbred race track on Florida’s western coast and is a popular weekend attraction.
