Covering an area of 4.7 square miles, the unincorporated community of Mango hosts a population base in excess of 9,000 residents and is located east of Tampa at the junction of the I-4 and I-75 interstates. The I-4 runs in the east-west direction and can quickly and efficiently transport Mango residents into downtown Tampa within a matter of minutes. I-75 runs in the north-south direction and provides convenient access to the communities that surrounding Tampa.

Vandenberg Airport, better known as the Tampa Executive Airport, is just across the I-4 from Mango and is just six miles from the central business district of Tampa. The airport serves general aviation exclusively and is often frequented by the private and corporate aircraft of many of Tampa’s most prominent businesspeople and vacationers. The two-runway airfield is open throughout the year and is frequented by some of the nation’s biggest celebrities.

A number of recreational areas around Mango make the community one of the most convenient and family-friendly places to live. Williams Tanner Road Park, Burnett Park, and Evans Park provide typical park amenities including picnic areas, jogging paths, and grassy fields for sports like lacrosse, soccer, and rugby. The Eastpoint Little League Fields are dedicated to the several baseball youth teams based in Mango. Rodney Colson County Park, technically part of Seffner, is sandwiched in between Lake Weeks and Lake Hooker, providing not only a nice recreational area but also a beautiful spot for a sunset picnic. Mango Lake rests on the Brandon-Mango boundary and is a popular water sport area in the summer months.

Westfield Brandon is the closest shopping plaza relative to Mango and is actually located in a neighboring community just south of the main town of Mango. The center features a number of restaurants, including Starbucks, The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, and a food court that offers a number of express and take-out options. More importantly, a number of high-end or national brand retailers, flagshipped by a large Macy’s store, also have stores to serve the local residents and those residents from areas in the surrounding areas, including Apple Store, Bakers, bebe, Books-A-Million, Cache, Clark's, Coldwater Creek, Dick's Sporting Goods, Fossil, Lucky Brand Jeans, Mixx, Sephora, Quiksilver, Tilly's, Torrid, The Walking Company, and White House/Black Market. For residents who choose not to use Westfield Brandon, the Brandon Crossings Shopping Center and Regency Square Mall are nearby and convenient alternatives.
